  Romancing around in greens!!! Trip to Midnapore is remembered for its utmost vibrancy, thrill, happiness quotient, and learning. The moment our train touched the Kharagpur station in West Bengal, we took a sigh of relief that finally, we are moving close to our destination.   The other side!!! Dear Corona, First of all, I want to wish you a Happy Holi. At approximately this time last year, we just started feeling the heat of your confirmed deadly arrival. And it generated the series of events which were directed by the government to save us from you. Emergency imposed in an emergency. How strange, our lips were sealed and breathing obstructed to stay away from you. As if the media was under the control of the government since it has abused its independence. Very true we actually misused our freedom of speech. Hats off to you my dear Corona. In a single shot, you caught us and we surrendered without much resistance, and those who violated the order, have been court-martialled.  Not used to deserted roads and human silence, we wondered what was going to happen if any calamity struck and we were left alone on earth. What is independence? Please explain, for humanity's sake, what is the exact definition of independence?  The other day I was chatting with my son, who is pursuing post-graduation from a European university, and asked him about the current    COVID situation there ..to my complete disbelief he retorted with utmost helplessness, “Maa here people are so arrogant that they find wearing masks derogatory as if they have been robbed of their independence. And also find it demeaning to take necessary precautions as it may invade their independence. Due to this government is forced to put a curfew since the COVID spread is going out of hand and the virus is spreading like wildfire”.  ‘Whattttt?’ I was shocked to hear this and later complimented our government and most importantly our Indian citizens for taking the COVID warnings seriously and effectively. Which saved us from causing havoc in our densely populated country.  I always thought that the west is more literate...
