 The other side!!!

Dear Corona,

First of all, I want to wish you a Happy Holi. At approximately this time last year, we just started feeling the heat of your confirmed deadly arrival. And it generated the series of events which were directed by the government to save us from you. Emergency imposed in an emergency. How strange, our lips were sealed and breathing obstructed to stay away from you. As if the media was under the control of the government since it has abused its independence. Very true we actually misused our freedom of speech. Hats off to you my dear Corona. In a single shot, you caught us and we surrendered without much resistance, and those who violated the order, have been court-martialled. 

Not used to deserted roads and human silence, we wondered what was going to happen if any calamity struck and we were left alone on earth. No amount of wealth and abundance is going to bring joy. These dreadful thoughts became part of my daily dreams during the days of complete lockdown. Devoid of the warm touch of our family and friends made me a soul-less creature. How I hated those unforgettable days.  

But now I sincerely wish ...you to please quietly and peacefully leave our abode ‘Earth’. It’s been almost a year you have already created enough havoc and we humans have paid a heavy price for it. I do agree that it’s not entirely your fault. We have contributed a lot to self-destruction but I have only one grudge when two parties fight it’s the responsibility of both sides to announce war in advance. 

Alas!! You never announced instead sneaked quietly and attacked conspicuously. Hardly we could act and precious lives were sacrificed. 

But it’s unfair to blame you for everything we are no less. We have done enough damage to the situation which has occurred now. 

The tiny virus, like you, has been given life supposedly by our neighbouring country and literally, it backfired on them too. So now it’s not a war of weapons, principles, and territories but it's a war of supremacy in terms of currency. An economic war fought by backstabbing and countries cornered by mind games.  But you have been made a scapegoat in this tug-of-war for becoming a superpower. Ambitious nations have become inhuman to human life. 

You are a boon or a bane? still a debatable statement. I can very well speak for ‘For’ as well as for ‘against’.

No wonder we started enjoying life in penury. Minimal needs to sustain life have quickly emerged as the tagline for the richest of the rich which only existed in the poor man’s dictionary. 

Compulsory Propinquity tightened the bond within the families and thus smallest unit of our society ‘the nuclear family’ blossomed in the radiant atmosphere. We started valuing the contiguity of our friends and neighbours. 

Online education did flourish out of necessity then handiness took its place. Darling Corona, You took the job of many but gradually those worthy were given a new lease of life and wrinkled faces lit by unusual spotlight thrown on them. How l wish I could hug you for this. You actually seem to me as a God-send, a Santa Claus 🎅. 

We cannot imagine any business run without a middleman. Yeah right !! You could do this...deleted those wretched souls sucking the blood off both sides and swelled beyond repair. The true worth of a service provider was very well-acknowledged. 

Who says we are not capable of making equipment for hospitals and doing research for anti-virus vaccines. You helped us in paving the way ...it’s said: “Necessity is the mother of all inventions”. So we stumbled initially but then stood up to face you. Here we are lauding our efforts and I secretly thank you for your constant faith in us .....now it’s time for you to say goodbye ....live wherever you want to but don’t trouble us anymore. 💁🏻‍♀️.....Now we should agree that money is something but not everything since initially gone was those who were in the limelight...Generate immunity and equanimity but not animosity !!!
